Curious about Bend’s real estate market?

Hi, I’m Austin Buskohl - a local real estate agent ready to help you navigate Bend’s unique (and sometimes challenging) housing landscape with clear, data-driven insights.

As a numbers nerd, I work hard to piece together the real estate market puzzle to uncover hidden gems and opportunities that might otherwise go unnoticed.

While real estate is serious business, I also aim to keep it approachable and know that numbers don’t always tell the whole story.

In honor of my debut in the Bend Buzz, I'm excited to share my Buyer Opportunity - Subdivision Snapshot (B.O.S.S.). After combing through market data on Bend’s 500+ subdivisions, this report highlights the top options that may offer prime buyer opportunities right now.

Sign up for the BOSS report and other exclusive market insights to see how this approach can work for you. Or just give me a call or text at (541)316-8025, and I’d love to chat over a cup of coffee (my treat).

🛣️ Date set for the closing of Cascade Lakes Highway

ODOT announced that November 19th will be the closing date for the Cascade Lakes Highway and Paulina Lake Road. With that said, the date can be moved up if conditions warrant an earlier closure (and conditions are looking spicy this weekend). So get in those last lake trips or you’ll be waiting until spring.

⛄️ In other winter highway news

ODOT sent a shock to many winter recreation lovers as it reiterated its stance on the usage, or lack thereof if they get their wish, of the McKenzie Pass highway during the winter season. Feel free to read their statement and make your own conclusions as to how to use this treasured byway over the winter.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🏈 Hideaway Tavern opens up a new location: The owners of Hideaway Tavern have opened up a new location, known as Hideaway Empire, on the north side of town off of Empire Ave. They opened up on Tuesday, so hop on over to catch the games this weekend.

🦡 High Desert Museum shifts to winter hours: As winter slowly creeps closer, the High Desert Museum is trimming back its hours until spring rolls around again. They will be open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, but don’t worry, as there will still be plenty of exhibits (Blood, Sweat, and Flannel kicks off on Saturday) rolling through to keep us entertained and informed all winter long.

⛷️ SKI SEASON RETURNS

Polish up those rock skis and boards, as the snow is already piling up at higher elevations. A quick look on Instagram or Facebook will show that plenty of folks have been out grabbing early-season turns on the cone or kicking tracks around Dutchman Flats.

If you’re headed up to the mountain, watch for very early-season conditions. Sharks are plentiful, and core shots are never fun.

We’ll be publishing snow reports here every Friday (so long as snow is in the forecast), and here’s the inaugural edition.
