🎭️ Once opening at the Greenhouse Cabaret
On Friday, the Greenhouse Cabaret is kicking off its latest show, Once. If you’ve ever been to Somewhere That’s Green and peeked into the show area (or attended a show in the past), then you know how intimate the space is. So this show, which features a dozen instrumentalists, singers, and actors, should be a real treat for the senses. Tickets for the opening weekend are almost all sold out, but the show will continue Thursdays through Sundays until November 15th. So still plenty of time to catch a performance (or three).
🎄 Tickets on Sale for Schilling’s Makers Markets
The holiday market season will be here before we know it, and one of the most popular spots in town has just released tickets to this year’s events. Schilling’s Makers Markets take place on December 6th & 7th, and, due to limited parking, reserving a ticket in advance is required. These usually sell out fast, so I’d recommend grabbing one before they’re gone (it’s a long walk, otherwise).
🥾 Hike Without A Permit
If you’re looking to get out and enjoy some of the area’s most popular hiking trails without worrying about a pesky permit, then tomorrow is your day. The Central Cascades Wilderness Permit season ends after today, which means you can climb South Sister, hike to No Name Lake, or enjoy a trail run to Green Lakes without having to sit on your computer and hit the buy button at 7 AM, sharp. The weather, on the other hand…
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🔐 Spa W closes: Longtime Bend spa, Spa W, abruptly closed its doors at its location by the Box Factory. According to a note on their website, the closure, coming after 27 years in business, was due to rising costs and the lasting effects of the pandemic.
🧖♂️ A new luxury hotel/spa coming to Bend: In other spa news from the corner of Wall & Colorado, a new luxury spa/hotel called CASCADA is in the works. The upscale hotel is set to be built in the mostly vacant lot behind Project Bike. Construction is slated to begin next year with an anticipated opening date in 2028.
🍽️ The Hudson opening in the former 900 Wall space: The space formerly occupied by 900 Wall is set to welcome a new tenant. The new restaurant will be called The Hudson and will be headed up by chef George Morris (formerly of Bos Taurus). I don’t have many other details to share yet, but you can follow along on their socials here (Facebook & Instagram).
