🎁 Holiday markets…already?!?
Sorry if I caught you off guard there. It’s not quite holiday market season yet, but if you’re a local artist and maker, then this is the season to begin signing up to sell your wares at the local markets.
The always popular Magical Markets of Merriment at Somewhere That’s Green is accepting vendor applications until August 24th. Note that they get A LOT of interest and can only select 13 - 15 vendors for the four markets, so adjust your expectations accordingly.
And just down the road, the Sunriver Saturday Holiday Market is also accepting applications for their market on November 29th. The application period closes on September 10th.
📇 Remember to Renew Those Library Cards
We know you’re all trying to make the most of these last weeks of summer, but don’t let this deadline slip past your radar. The Deschutes Library requires all cardholders to renew their library cards every five years (note that this isn’t five years from when you first signed up - like it is with your driver’s license). So if you got your card one year ago or 4 years and 9 months ago, the September 1st renewal deadline applies to you. I’m not sure what’ll happen to all those Libby holds that you’ve been waiting on for months if you let your card lapse, but do you really want to find out??
It only takes a second to renew, so even if you’re not sure, it doesn’t hurt to go ahead and do it anyway. You can renew your card here.

P.S. The new Victoria’s Secret space at the Bend Outlet Mall is now open.
P.P.S In the linked article above, it was also noted that Claire’s will be leaving the Old Mill. No date has been announced, but if you’ve been putting off getting your ears pierced, then you might want to hop on it.
