TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Bend! There is no surer sign that spring is just around the corner than the annual emergence of the rock chucks by the Old Mill. While I haven't personally seen them yet (probably because I hardly ever drive along that road), there are rumors that they made an appearance earlier this week.
In today’s Bend Buzz:
🎿 Bend skier headed to the Paralympic Games
🏍 Wildhorse Harley closing
📆 Your weekend event lineup
Let’s get to it.

SPONSORED BY RETHINK WASTE
We talk a lot about buying “eco-friendly.” But here’s the truth: anything new still requires natural resources to make. Even the most sustainable product has a footprint.
The Environmental Center’s Rethink Waste Project is helping make reuse cool again. Because rewearing your favorite outfits, refilling the same water bottle, or repurposing old jars is one of the most sustainable choices you can make. It saves money, reduces waste, and keeps perfectly good stuff out of the landfill.
New colors drop. New trends hit. But the planet benefits most when we simply use what we already have.
Curious how to build reuse into your everyday life?

🎿 Bend Skier Qualifies for the Paralympic Winter Games
Bend has another skier headed to the mountains of Italy, as local Anna Soens will be headed overseas to compete for the United States in the Paralympic Games. She'll be racing in five events: downhill, super-G, alpine combined, giant slalom, and slalom. The competition kicks off on March 6th.
🛝 Summer Camp Guide Update
We’re rolling into a new month on Sunday, so we figured it was time to give our summer camp guide a quick update. A half dozen more camps have opened registration, we've added in MBSEF’s new mountain biking summer camp, and signups for the big one (Operation Recreation) open up in just over two weeks. You can check out our full summer camp guide here and start your summer planning.
Speaking of rolling into a new month, our premium subscriber email will be hitting inboxes on Sunday morning (or maybe afternoon if I spend an hour lying on the floor after going for a long run that morning). This email is a way for us to share a little behind-the-scenes look at the Bend Buzz, offer up a local perk, and preview the month ahead as a way to say thanks to everyone who chooses to chip in and help support the newsletter directly.
This month’s perk will be a special discount for a teeth whitening session from friend-of-the-buzz Amanda at Glossed Whitening Bar. Want to get in on the fun, save a few bucks on a brighter smile, and help support this local newsletter? You can do so here →
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🏍 Wildhorse Harley closing: This one slipped past our radar, but a few weeks back, Wildhorse Harley announced that they would be closing after 26 years in business. No reason was given behind their closure or what is next for their prominent building along Highway 97.
🧘 Bend Yoga Fest schedule drop and pass sale: The Bend Yoga Fest is scheduled for June 11 - 14, and on Saturday, they will be releasing their full schedule of events. If you want first dibs on signups for classes happening during the four-day festival (and want to save a few bucks), make sure to buy your passes before prices increase on March 1st.
