⚾️ Bend Elks Notch First Playoff Win in a Decade
The Bend Elks put on a show for the home crowd at Vince Genna Stadium on Friday evening with their first playoff win since 2015! Unfortunately, Corvallis returned the favor on Saturday, and Sunday evening’s game will decide who advances to the next round of the playoffs. As of 9 PM, things aren’t looking so great for the Elks…
🥵 August is Bringing the Heat
It’s been a downright delightful summer so far, so I guess we were due for a little bit of heat. The temps today are looking like they’ll reach their hottest of the summer (ironic that it’s happening just days after some areas outside of town were hit with a frost…).
If you’ll be outside, make sure to drink plenty of water and keep a lookout for signs of heat stroke. Also, let’s all lend a helping hand by keeping an eye on our vulnerable neighbors who might not have access to AC.
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🥯 Mimi’s Bagel Deli Closing Its Food Truck: Mimi’s Bagel Deli announced that they are closing their food truck, but hopefully not for long. In the meantime, you’ll still be able to find their bagels at shops around town. Soon, they hope to secure a new home in the form of a brick-and-mortar location.
🚧 Big Changes Coming for Businesses Along Galveston: Over the weekend, KTVZ dropped a pair of stories about upcoming changes happening at the Bakery Building (Sunriver Brewing & BOSA) and the Boss Rambler building.
The Bakery Building will undergo a full makeover, featuring a permanent outdoor patio space and room for a third restaurant. They announced that BOSA will be sticking around through the renovations, but Sunriver Brewing will be moving out by the end of the year.
Next door, the Boss Rambler building will be demolished, and a new two-story building with both retail and office space will be built in its place.
🍜 Pho Viet Reopens with a New Look: Pho Viet has finished up the refresh of their 3rd St location, and both their 3rd St and Grove spots are back open after a two-week closure. If you’ve been waiting with baited breath for a bowl of pho and live on the NW side of town, remember that their Grove location is closed on Mondays.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
🎉 Friday’s got more flavors than a GoodLife beer flight. Start your day zen-style with a Roaming Yoga Retreat at Cultus Lake, then learn how to save seeds like a backyard botanist at Worthy Brewing (bonus: grab a pint while you’re at it). When the sun dips, the party picks up—get rowdy at After Hours Bingo at Silver Moon, sip your way through the Damn Tasting Series at Deschutes Brewery, rock out to Rock of Ages under the stars at Drake Park, or belly-laugh with Naomi Fitter at Craft Kitchen.
🛼 Saturday’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of day. Sunrise chasers can start with a hike + yoga sesh + Bend Breakfast Burrito (that’s basically a religion here). More of a dirt-under-the-nails type? Join the volunteer Weed Pull at Discovery Park West. If you’re craving calm, soak up some forest bathing in Shevlin Park. Evening vibes? Spice it up at Salsa Night at River’s Place or let your mind wander into the weird with The Dose Psychedelic Comedy Show at Bunk + Brew.
🦆 Sunday keeps it mellow but magical. Stretch into the day with Yoga on the Lawn at On Tap, get grounded at the Tangled Roots Workshop at The Grove, or experience Piano Flow Explore against the epic backdrop of Smith Rock (because Bend’s not here to give you average Sundays).
🎶 Live music all weekend—and we’re talking the big names and the neighborhood heroes. From Trampled by Turtles and Glass Animals at Hayden Homes to Bendre The Giant, The Rusty Frets, and Tropidelic & Shwayze lighting up local stages, there’s a soundtrack for every mood. Grab a pint, post up on a patio, and let Bend’s summer nights do their thing.
