TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Bend! We’ve got a BIG lineup of events happening this weekend, and I think Saturday may take the cake for the most I’ve ever listed in a single day! The seasons may be changing, but things certainly aren’t slowing down around town.

In today’s Bend Buzz:

  • ⛷ Ski swap this weekend

  • 🏂 Powder House celebrates 50 years

  • 📽 Bend Film Fest continues

Let’s get to it.

— Derek Carlson

Wasted food isn't just bad for the planet, it's bad for your wallet! With grocery prices continuing to increase across the nation, preventing food from going bad is not just about the planet, but your budget! By placing perishable foods, like produce and bread, at the front of your fridge, you can eat them first when you reach in for a snack. For more tips and tricks on preventing food waste, visit our website here → envirocenter.org/programs/rethink-waste-project/why-rethink-waste/composting-at-home/

🎿 Time for the Ski Swap

It’s finally that time to unload last year’s skis and bring home some new (to you) gear for the upcoming winter season. The MBSEF Skyliners Ski Swap kicks off on Friday evening at The Pavilion with a preparty and sale for volunteers, sponsors, & partners. As of this writing, they still had a few tickets available if you wanted to get in on the early shopping goodness. For everyone else, the swap kicks off at 8 AM and runs until 5 PM on Saturday (extra discounts will be added from 3 - 5 PM).

🤝 On The Lawn Creative Fest

Bend has no shortage of creative folks, and the teams from Radcat Design and Three Pines have teamed up to throw a one-day event for those people. On The Lawn takes place tonight (Friday) from 3 - 9 PM at Crux and will feature opportunities to network with and learn from creatives and business leaders in town. The event is free to attend, but they ask that you register.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🦴 Final weekend at Boneyard Pub: Fans of the Boneyard Pub have one last chance to say goodbye before they close for good. Luckily, the pub is sending things off in style with a good old-fashioned going-away party on Sunday. There will be live music, drink specials, and the chance to share your favorite RPM-fueled memories from the past eight years.

🚨 Coyote 1st anniversary party: The Coyote is celebrating their first trip around the sun with a neon night party on Saturday. Dress up in your best blacklight-friendly attire and enjoy an evening of dancing, glitter tattoos, face paint, photo booth pics, and more!

☕ Backporch 20th anniversary party: Head to Backporch Coffee’s Greenwood location on Saturday from 3 - 6 PM for a party to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Grab a drink (they’ll have coffee, beer, & wine) and listen to some live music from Travis Ehrenstrom and Brent Alan.

⛷ Powder House celebrates 50 years in Bend: Who knew that anyone even lived here 50 years ago!?! (Kidding!) Powder House is celebrating one impressive milestone as this weekend is their 50th anniversary of providing ski and (more recently) snowboarding equipment to Bendites. Stop by on Saturday for $5 taps and live music at Base Camp and 50% off last year’s remaining inventory.
