Move over Punxsutawney Phil, Oregon’s winter weather predicting beaver, Filbert, also gave notice that we have another six weeks of winter in store. That’s good news for folks who want to hit the slopes but not so much for those counting down the days until Black Butte is clear of snow so they can start working in their gardens.

🍽️ A new Moroccan spot is opening: The folks behind Blissful Spoon are rolling out a new Moroccan dining concept called Papillon with a soft opening launch on Thursday. Reservations are still available if you want to be first in line to get a sneak peek at what should be a fun addition to the Bend dining scene.

✈️ A call for hosts for foreign exchange students: CETUSA (Council for Educational Travel, USA) is looking for host families in Bend to welcome high school exchange students for a semester or school year. These students are eager to experience American life, and you don’t need high schoolers (or even kids!) to host—families of all types are welcome.
