SafeSplash Swim School is almost here
Bend's newest swim school opens this September on the north side of town, and enrollment is open now. SafeSplash offers lessons for every age and skill level, from babies as young as 6 months all the way up to competitive swimmers looking to sharpen their stroke technique. Whether your little one is just getting comfortable in the water or your high schooler wants to level up before next season, there's a spot for them.
A brand new, purpose-built facility. Certified instructors. Small class sizes. And no more waking up at 6 AM to fight for swim lesson spots.
Now enrolling for early September.

🤠 Sisters Rodeo Kicks Off
The legendary Sisters Rodeo kicks off on Wednesday for five days of action at the Sisters Rodeo Grounds. Still waiting to buy your tickets? You’re pretty much out of luck at this point, as all five days are already sold out. If you’re making the drive between Bend and Sisters between now and Sunday, expect congestion around the rodeo grounds during the event start and end times.
🧘 Bend Yoga Fest Gets Underway
Looking for a weekend activity that involves less lasso and more lotus? The Bend Yoga Festival kicks off on Thursday, and this one does still have tickets available. Events are happening all over town, and you can buy a pass that gets you into all the action or pick and choose at your leisure. Check out the full schedule here.
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🛞 Les Schwab cuts 70 HQ jobs: One of Central Oregon’s largest employers announced they have cut 70 jobs at their headquarters here in Bend. Here’s hoping everyone affected can land on their feet quickly.
🚘 Costco car wash opens: The north end of town continues to grow as the new car wash at Costco is now open for business. $8.99 gets your ride looking fresh and ready for summer (or at least until that next drive down one of our rather dusty dirt roads). Note that a Costco membership is required.
❤🩹 Heka Healing opens next week: Have some lingering pain from a sprained ankle (me!) or other injury? Heka Healing, which is opening next week, will be offering non-invasive regenerative therapies including infrared laser, shockwave, and magnetotransduction therapy. They are now booking new patients and are located at 888 NW Hill St, Ste 5.
