Apply for the final round of the 2025 Community Innovation Fund

Hey Bend Buzz readers! Do you have an idea to reduce waste in the community? Maybe at your workplace, school, neighborhood, or community group? Maybe it’s as simple as replacing a single-use item with reusables, or maybe it’s making reusable willow harvest bags from old billboards to help restore beaver habitat (looking at you, Think Wild). Either way, here’s your opportunity to receive $5K to make it happen!

Here are a few of the 45 projects we’ve funded since 2020:

Check out our Projects Showcase, see the CIF page, or join our Info Session on 7/1.

P.S. We’re excited to present with a few CIF projects at the Sustainable Oregon conference next week!

🎵 Music fests new and old

Two music fests take the stage around Bend this weekend - one that has been around a while but has a new look, and another bringing a whole new vibe to town.

The 4 Peaks Music Fest is moving indoors this year after they were unable to secure permits for their normal outdoor festival space. The kickoff event took place yesterday at the Volcanic Theatre Pub, and the rest of the shows will be happening Saturday and Sunday at the Tower Theatre. The Rumble w/The Lucky Strokes takes the stage on Saturday, and Sunday is Leftover Salmon w/Holly Bowling.

Over at Silver Moon Brewing, a brand new music fest is coming to town on Saturday with the Bend Blues Fest. This one-day event kicks off at 1 PM and runs until 10 PM with eight blues bands taking the stage. Tickets for an all-day pass are $20.

🎧️ Come dance with us

There’s no better way to ward off the Monday blues than with a little moving and grooving (+ some coffee). So we teamed up with the silent disco crew at Reti Radio and our coffee slinging friends at The Pantry to throw an impromptu silent disco party. Tickets are just $15 and get you $5 towards a coffee or other treat from the Pantry as well as an hour of moving and grooving to the silent beats. So come shake your tailfeathers with a few new best friends.

📍 Monday, June 30th @ 9 AM at The Pantry

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🏢 Jackstraw Development announces first two retail tenants: I know this might have slipped under most folks’ radars, but there’s a new development going up in the Box Factory that is getting close to completion. Jokes aside, the Jackstraw Development just announced their first two retail tenants, Sisters Coffee (we all know who they are), and Drybar, a California-based salon that specializes in blowouts.

🍷 New food and wine fest with a local flair: Local chef and friend of the Bend Buzz, Rose Archer of Lucious Supper Club, has announced a new food and wine fest that will be taking place at Mt. Bachelor’s West Village this fall. The Lucious Bend Food + Wine Experience is bringing together 10 local chefs, 10 local farmers, and 10 regional wineries to create a memorable 10-course dining experience. The chefs include Ramsey & Juli Hamden from Joolz, Nickol Hayden-Cady from Foxtail, and Scott Byers from Ronin Izakaya, so this might be your one chance to turn back the clock and taste some of your old favorite dishes.

💎 Big city style comes to town: Silverado Jewelry Gallery is hosting a trunk show by acclaimed Bronx artist Yasuko Azuma. Yakuso will be on hand Saturday from 10 AM - 5 PM, so this is your chance to meet the artist behind these hand-crafted pieces.
