🛍 July edition of First Friday
Well, the stars are aligning quite nicely this year with Munch & Music launching yesterday, First Friday today, and then the 4th of July festivities tomorrow. And to top it off, the weather is looking a whole lot better than last weekend. You all know the drill by now: head to the Old Mill from 3 - 6 PM and downtown Bend from 5 - 8 PM to check out the art, chat with local businesses, enjoy some live music, and enjoy what should be a lovely July evening in Bend.
🐿 Find Some Critters at the Old Mill
The Old Mill has teamed up with Portland artist Mike Bennett (odds are you’ll know his work when you see it) to hide 15 of his animal characters around the Old Mill. You can grab a scavenger hunt sheet from the ticket mill, and kiddos who complete the hunt will win a small prize. Each animal also includes a QR code that you can scan to learn a little more about the real species behind the art.
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🍦 Porch Swing launches an ice cream truck tracker: Ziggy's has teamed up with the local buy nothing app Porch Swing to put both of its ice cream trucks on a live map as they roll around Bend. Opt-in and you'll get a push notification the moment a truck is heading your way. Just enough lead time to grab your wallet or stage a strategic distraction for the kiddos. Tap the ice cream icon in the Porch Swing app to start tracking.
🍿 Brown Bag Popcorn grand reopening & anniversary celebration: Brown Bag Popcorn is ready to show off their new digs to the world with a grand reopening (and fourth anniversary) celebration on First Friday. Come check out the space (it’s just across the street from their old location), enjoy some sips, and see which downtown business rep can take home the crown at their annual popcorn eating contest.

Heka Healing is moving!
Galveston Ave is getting a new business as Andi of Heka Healing has purchased the old Creative Hair Graphics building. My first question (after saying congratulations) was whether Sol Verde was staying—good news: they are!

If you're dealing with a recent injury, a nagging injury, chronic pain, or recovering from surgery, Heka Healing's non-invasive regenerative therapies help stimulate your body's natural healing process.
From tendinitis and scar tissue to joint pain and plantar fasciitis, treatments are designed to help you recover faster and get back to doing what you love.
