Meet Kyndell Keddy, Fitness & Nutrition Advisor at OnePeak Medical

Nutrition is a key cornerstone of health, and Kyndell Keddy helps patients turn it into a sustainable part of everyday life. At OnePeak Medical, we pair advanced testing, like microbiome mapping and food sensitivity panels, with personalized care plans to get to the root of your symptoms.

“Depending on your labs, symptoms, nutrition, and health history, we discuss which dietary pattern will be best to optimize your health,” Kyndell explains. “But we don’t just stop there. Equally important to what we eat is how we eat. Together, we’ll dive into roadblocks, stressors, grocery-shopping habits, dietary preferences, and time constraints so we can make sustainable, lifelong changes that align with your health goals.”

Whether you want to ease joint pain, stabilize blood sugar, improve performance, or simply cut out the guesswork, OnePeak Medical partners with you every step of the way

⛷️ Mt Bachelor Announces Opening Day Plans and Lift Upgrades

The first snows of the season haven’t yet hit the mountains, but that hasn’t stopped Mt Bachelor from announcing its planned opening day for the 2025/26 ski season. This year’s date is November 28th (the day after Thanksgiving), but, if you remember, the mountain managed to open two weeks early last year thanks to an early dumping of snow.

Also in the news are planned upgrades to the Northwest lift after the conclusion of the ski season. On the docket are replacing the upper and lower operator shacks and electrical drive components, as well as installing a night drive system that will hopefully minimize ice buildup and keep the lift running more often after storms.

September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about hunger in America and inspire action. Every action―big or small―is one step closer to an America where no one is hungry. When people are fed, futures are nourished, and we can all reach our full potential.  Family Kitchen’s mission is to provide meals to anyone in need in a safe and caring environment. Since 1986, Family Kitchen has been serving meals to our neighbors here in Central Oregon. In 2024, Family Kitchen distributed over 250,000 nutritious, filling meals to our community.

Here are some ways you can partner with Family Kitchen this month and take action in the fight against hunger!

  • Volunteer!

  • Donate to Family Kitchen!

  • Host a Food Drive! Family Kitchen needs the following items the most:
Rice, vegetable oil, olive oil, cooking spray, peanut butter, mayonnaise, ground coffee, white sugar, brown sugar, honey, jam/jelly, healthy snack items for sack lunches: small bags of pretzels, fruit snacks, apple sauce, smoothie packs, crackers trail mix ingredients: nuts, chocolate chips, pretzels, shelf stable proteins: black beans, canned chicken, garbanzo beans, lima beans, lentils.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🤠 New country bar moving into old Unofficial Logging Co. space: Were you a fan of the movie Coyote Ugly as a 20-something but never got the chance to dance on a bar? Well then, you’re in luck, as a new bar is moving into the space previously occupied by the Unofficial Logging Co., which is advertising itself as loungey coyote during the day and coyote ugly after dark. They hope to open by mid-October. Just remember to stretch before climbing up on the bar, as we’re not in our 20s anymore.

🍽️ Prep Kitchen to close: Some big changes are happening behind the scenes in the Bend restaurant world. Prep Kitchen, a commissary kitchen that has been home to literally 100s of food trucks and restaurants over the years, is closing their doors later this month. This has left current tenants scrambling to find new prep space and will likely lead to some shakeups in the Bend dining world over the coming months.

One immediate change is that Tekka Tiger will be relocating to the food truck previously owned by Mimi’s Bagels. They should be reopening early next month in their new location.
