TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Bend! I hope your brackets are still going strong (although let’s be real, they’re all in sorry shape at this point).

In today’s Bend Buzz:

  • 👖 REVOLVR coming to the Old Mill

  • 🏫 New library has an opening date

  • 🍔 Super Deluxe closes

Let’s get to it.

📚 Updates at the Library

Big news for fans of the library as the new Central Library at Stevens Ranch will be officially opening its doors on May 11th. Want to get a little bit of a sneak peek at the building? Their drive-thru opens up today. You can drop off books, DVDs, or magazines, and pick up holds. While it won’t get you in the building, it’ll be a bit of a taste of things to come!

🤝 Local Org Highlights

Last week, we included a short blurb about highlighting the good things that local orgs were doing for the Central Oregon community, and a bunch of you sent in info about upcoming events and offerings. Thank you so much! I promise I have them all saved and will include them over the next few weeks.

Here are a couple to get started, and going forward, these will get their own dedicated space in the newsletter.

Banff Mountain Film Festival: The Banff Mountain Film Festival is making its return to Bend. This year, the event will be helping to support the Realms Schools. Realms Middle and High School are public expeditionary learning schools, right here in Bend, where students regularly take their learning into the field through interdisciplinary projects that combine science, humanities, math, and the arts. Tickets are on sale with the event taking place April 17-18.

🍽 Signups Open for April Dinner Club

Signups are open for our next dinner club, which is happening on April 2nd at 6:30 PM. You probably all know the drill by now (but here’s a little refresher, if not).

  • Take a quick quiz — tell us your interests, food preferences, and vibe.

  • Get matched with 5 people who are heading to dinner with you.

  • Restaurant details arrive the morning of dinner — we handle the mystery so you don’t have to.

  • Meet for dinner, then if you’re up for it, join the optional after-party.

The details:
💵 $16 to save your seat.
🍽️ You pay for your meal.
🎉 We handle the rest.

If you haven’t saved your spot yet, now’s the time. The dinner happens next week on April 2nd, at 6:30 PM, and you can grab your seat here.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

👖 REVOLVR to open at the Old Mill: The old Francesca’s space at the Old Mill will be welcoming a new tenant, and it’s a familiar name. REVOLVR, a boutique men’s clothing store that has been operating downtown for over a decade, will be opening up a second location in the space. Three cheers for seeing another local business expand!

🍔 Super Deluxe closes its Bend location: Does Bend have too many burger joints? Folks who like to complain on Facebook certainly think so, and now there’s one less in town (burger joints that is, not people who complain online). Super Deluxe, a Portland-based burger restaurant, seems to have closed its Bend store, as it is no longer listed on their website.

TOGETHER WITH JUST-IN TIME APPLIANCE REPAIR

You Don’t Realize How Important Your Appliances Are… Until One Breaks

Nothing reminds you how much you rely on your fridge, washer, or oven quite like the moment they stop working.

That’s when a lot of Bend Buzz readers end up calling Just-In Time Appliance Repair.

They mentioned recently that they've had a steady stream of calls from people who saw them in the newsletter. And judging by their nearly 200 five-star reviews, those calls are turning into happy customers.

Their team has built a strong reputation in Bend for showing up on time, explaining the problem clearly, and getting appliances running again without the runaround. It’s also why they’ve earned the Nextdoor Neighborhood Fave Award.

If something in your kitchen or laundry room decides to quit, give the crew at Just-In Time a call at 541-208-4424 or schedule your service at justintimeappliance.com.
