TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Bend! And happy birthday to this little newsletter. Exactly two years ago, I sent out the very first edition of the Bend Buzz to a whopping list of 50 people. Two years and 273 newsletters later, and we’re sending this email to a list of 18,322 Central Oregonians (give or take a couple). Thanks to everyone for subscribing, sending in your events, sponsoring the newsletter, and supporting businesses both big and small around Central Oregon over these past two years.

In today’s Bend Buzz:

  • 🎸 Munch & Music is back

  • 🪶 Chime in on new roundabout art

  • 🖼 Sign up for the $20 art show

Let’s get to it.

🎶 Munch & Music is Back

Everyone’s (and I mean everyone) favorite downtown music and hangout shindig is back for another season of fun on Thursday evenings. Munch & Music takes place every Thursday evening from 5:30 - 9-ish at Drake Park from tomorrow through August 6th. This week’s music headliner is Moontricks. Have kids? The bouncy house area is the place to be. Just be sure to bring some $$.

🖼 $20 Art Show Submissions Open

And now a note about everyone’s favorite tiny art show (the art is tiny, not the show itself). Submissions for this year’s $20 Art Show at the High Desert Museum are opening today (Wednesday) at noon sharp! You can sign up to submit up to 100 pieces (it costs $1 per piece to sign up), and they’ll determine how many pieces each artist can submit once two weeks have passed. All art must be less than 36 square inches (that’s a 6in x 6in square) and be able to be hung on the wall.

Not submitting art, but want to score some sweet $20 pieces? We’ll keep you up to date when tickets for the event go live.

🧑‍🎨 Chime in on New Roundabout Art

Want a chance to provide some input on what new art goes on display at the roundabout at Empire & 18th? Now’s your chance. Three proposed designs will be on display at Larkspur Community Center and the Scalehouse Gallery from July 3-18. You can also check out the designs here and send in your comments by email. I drive by this roundabout nearly every day, so ya’ll better choose a good one (my vote is on High Desert Currents)!
