TOGETHER WITH
Good morning, Bend! The forecast is not looking great for this afternoon with the threat of some pretty major lightning over our region. Hereâs hoping itâs not as bad as advertised. Also, if youâre planning on attending any outdoor events, Iâd highly recommend checking the groupâs social pages, as Iâm seeing a lot of cancellations pop up with the current smoke levels.

đ˛ Bend Triathlete Takes Home the Gold
Bend resident Paula Findlay won the Lake Placid IRONMAN race over the weekend. The race included a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike, and 26.2-mile run. The win qualifies her for the IRONMAN world championships in Hawaii this October.
đĨ Get Wildfire ReadyâĻfor Free!
Last year, we shared a wildfire preparedness resource that was created right here in Bend, and given the current situation (gestures to everything outside right now), we figured it was time for a little refresher. This yearâs is even better as Nikki, the creator of Ready Prep Go, has made the course free for everyone with the code BUZZPREP. Hereâs a quick note from Nikki on what the course covers:
Ready, Prep, Go is an online, 4-week course that helps busy people get their essential documents organized in a Digital Backpack, complete their 3-day emergency kit, and build their family communications plan using accountability tools so that everyone will feel more confident and prepared in an emergency.
đŊ August Dinner Club Invite
Iâve gotten a bunch of messages lately about the next dinner club, so I wanted to give you all an update on our next one. We took July off, as it gets pretty busy around town, but our August meetup is now scheduled for August 26th at 6 PM. This one will be taking place at restaurants along Century Dr, with a meetup at a local watering hole in the area.
If youâre new to our dinner clubs - hereâs how they work.
Click here and fill out a quick survey
Pay the $16 matching fee (this covers all the logistics, messaging, etc)
Youâll get paired up with 5 other strangers for dinner, who we think match your interests
Afterwards, weâll all meet up as a group for drinks
Sound good? Get started here, and weâll see you all next month.
đĩ Redline Opens at Bachelor
Itâs officially official downhill mountain biking season as Mt. Bachelorâs signature run - Redline - is slated to open for the season on Thursday. Youâll never find me on that trail, but for those with a lot more skill (and guts) than me, tomorrow is your day.

TOGETHER WITH REDEFINE LEARNING ACADEMY
The school year is almost here.
This fall, a brand new kind of middle school opens its doors in Bend.
Redefine Learning Academy welcomes its founding class of 6th and 7th graders this September. Think 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio. Mastery-based pacing. One-to-one instruction. It's a school built for kids who do their best learning when someone actually knows them.
No rushing past a concept before it clicks. No disappearing into a crowded classroom. Just real learning, at the right pace, with teachers who see your kid.
Want to learn more before the first bell rings? Stop by their booth this Friday at Balloons Over Bend and say hi.
