Winter Prep Tips for Your Home and Auto
Winter in Bend is beautiful but can bring challenges for your car and home. At Ryan Walker State Farm, we're here to help you stay safe and protected during the colder months.
For Your Home: Snow on your roof can create ice dams, causing water to get under shingles, freeze, expand, and melt—leading to damage. Prevent this by cleaning gutters, ensuring good insulation, and using a roof rake to remove snow before it causes problems. It’s also a good time to review your homeowners insurance to ensure coverage for unexpected winter issues.
For Your Car: Winter driving in Central Oregon brings unpredictable conditions—sliding in roundabouts and increased rear-end collisions are common. Cold weather can also impact your car’s battery, leading to breakdowns. To stay prepared, check your battery’s health and consider adding roadside service to your insurance plan for emergency help.
We’re here to help you prepare for whatever winter throws your way! Call us at 541-640-8080 to review your coverage and make sure you're ready for the season ahead.

✨ The twinkle lights are back
All is right with the world again in downtown Bend as the twinkle lights are back. After a one-year hiatus due to some unfortunate tree-trimming conflicts, the Downtown Bend Business Association managed to raise enough money to bring this little piece of winter magic back to town.
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🌯 Burrito Sunrise moves to a new home: One of Bend’s most popular breakfast burrito spots has moved to a new home. Formerly located off of Greenwood Ave, Burrito Sunrise can now be found just down the road at the Campfire Hotel.
🤸 A new aerial gym opens on the north side: Lava City Cirque, an aerial silks gym, opened up back in September on Bend's north side (sorry to be a little late with the news on this one!) The gym offers aerial lessons, classes for both kids and adults, as well as drop-off open play times. Kate (the owner) invited me to check it out (my kids had so much fun they can't wait to come back) and is inviting you all to join at tomorrow’s open gym for just $5.
