🏊️ BPRD spring signups are live

If you forgot about spring signups with Bend Parks and Rec (don’t say I didn’t warn you), then you’d best get to a computer ASAP. Registration for all non-swimming related programs opened yesterday, and aquatic program signups just started right now (I’m assuming everyone opens this email at 6 AM on the dot 😜)

🥶 Coldest temps of the year descend on Bend

Winter is back in full force this week as temperatures around the High Desert are forecasted to plunge to near zero in town and well below zero on the city’s outskirts. Make sure to insulate those outdoor faucets, open your cupboard doors if your pipes are susceptible to freezing, and bring those furry friends inside.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

👓️ Warby Parker is moving into the Old Mill: A few weeks ago, it was reported that Victoria’s Secret would be leaving the Old Mill. Well, now we know one of the two tenants that will be moving in to take over their vacated space. Warby Parker, known for their stylish and affordable glasses and sunglasses, will be opening up their first Oregon store outside of Portland. However, you’ll have to wait as the store isn’t projected to open until the Fall.

🛍️ A new tool to help you shop local: A new website is in the works (not by me) to make shopping local in Bend easier than ever. Full Send Bend is still in its early days, but it’s growing fast—and it needs your help! If you own a truly local business, add it to the directory. And next time you’re heading out to shop or eat, check the site first to keep your dollars right here in the community.
