Spirit Halloween rises again, another round of Bend jobs, and Sagebrush Cycles moves to the eastside

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Bend! Thanks for all the meal suggestions on Monday. It made me appreciate just how much Bend’s food scene has grown!

In today’s Bend Buzz:

  • šŸŽƒ Spirit Halloween returns

  • 🚧 Another roundabout construction open house

  • šŸš²ļø Sagebrush Cycles moves to the Eastside

Let’s get to it.

🄔 Bend’s Favorite Eats

Thanks to everyone who responded to our survey asking about your favorite go-to meals in Bend (psst…if you didn’t fill it out and still want to submit your favorite, you can do it here). Turns out you all like A LOT of different things, as we had over 50 different restaurants mentioned, and there weren’t really any specific dishes that stood out above the rest. A few restaurants that got a lot of call-outs included El Sancho and Spork (I may have swayed the results a little there), as well as Da Nang, Bo’s, Toasty, and Active Culture.

I have something fun in store with this data (so make sure to send in your favorite ā¬†ļø), which I’ll be sharing in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, it’ll help answer the question of ā€œwhat should we eat tonight?ā€

🚧 Another Roundabout Open House

No, this isn’t a repeat of the news from Monday’s newsletter. The city of Bend is hosting another roundabout construction open house, and this time the focus is on the upcoming (but not for another couple of years) project to widen the roundabout at Reed Market & 15th St. You can join in person to meet the project team and ask questions, or join online. 4 - 6 PM Larkspur Community Center

šŸŽ’ Register to Ride the Bus

Is your little one starting school in 2 (!!!) weeks and planning on riding the bus? Make sure you’re registered so they have a ride on day one. Bend-La Pine Schools says there are still 1,000 - 1,500 students around town who aren’t signed up, and if they aren’t registered by this Saturday, they may not be processed in time for the first day of school.

šŸŽ‰ Cascade Equinox Festival Giveaway

Here’s a little something fun. The folks over at Cascade Equinox Festival reached out to see if we’d be interested in doing a little giveaway for you all. So, of course, we had to say yes!

Here’s the deets: Cascade Equinox Festival is coming to the Deschutes County Fairgrounds September 19-21 for a weekend of electronic dance music from some of the top names in the space. If you want to join in on the fun, we’re giving away two general admission weekend passes (these would be $600+). Just head over to our post on Instagram to enter.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🚓 Sagebrush Cycles moves to new eastside location: Sagebrush Cycles (and their winter business - Skjersaa’s) have moved from their old location off of Century Dr to a new spot on the eastside off of 9th & Wilson near Bevel Brewing. Per a post on Instagram, they stated the reason for the move was a substantial upcoming rent increase at the old location.

šŸŽƒ Spirit Halloween is open for the season: If you’ve been to any of the big box stores around town, you’re probably under the impression that summer is long gone and Halloween is just around the corner. Well, ā€˜tis the season as Spirit Halloween has risen from the grave to take over a vacant commercial space so you can stock up on costumes, yard decor, and everything else spooky. This year’s location is at the former Rite Aid building off of 3rd.
