Running a business in Bend means juggling a lot - clients, team, biking, hiking, kid dropoffs, and yes, your website.

If any of these strike a chord, read on…

❌ Your developer ghosted
❌ A “quick update” becomes a two-month saga
❌ WordPress updates broke your site
❌ Your site feels… generic

🍷 Cork & Barrel kicks off

Wine lovers rejoice as the Cork & Barrel wine event kicks off on Thursday with winemaker dinners at restaurants across Bend. If you want to get in on the action, there are still a handful of tickets available for dinners at Jackelope with w/Sokol Blosser Winery and Tetherow with w/Prince Hill & Silver Oak Vineyards.

The rest of the weekend includes the uber popular Sip event and Grand Cru party.

🌊 New rules on the river

If you’re looking to raft up your tubes and float down the river with a few friends next summer, then there are some new rules you’ll have to keep in mind. The state is expanding permit requirements for most watercraft on Oregon’s waterways and this includes tubes (but only when they are tied together).

**Very last minute edit here - the state has clarified the rule and stated that tubers (no, not the potato kind) will not require a permit even if two or more tubes are tied together. Other watercraft, like paddle boards, kayaks, etc, will still need to get the permits.

🍽️ Help solve a very Bend mystery

Bend has a mystery on its hands, and we need your help in solving it. As you may know, the Environmental Center has a reusable dishware program where folks can borrow dish sets for parties, events, etc.

Recently, a volunteer was instructed to load the totes of dishware into their friend’s unlocked blue Subaru, and, this being Bend and all, they loaded them into the wrong unlocked blue Subaru.

So if you know someone who owns a blue Subaru or perhaps you own a blue Subaru that is now loaded with totes of green reusable dishes and you have no idea where they came from, please email [email protected], or stop by The Environmental Center and ask for the “Lost Dish Department”.

🛫 Avelo ending all west coast service: Low-cost airline Avelo has announced that they will be ceasing flights out of Redmond in August and shutting down their entire west coast presence by the end of the year. So if you have a flight booked down south this fall, you miiiight want to double-check on the status of that.
