📚️ Redmond Library opens their doors

Yesterday, the stunning new Redmond Library officially opened its doors. This new community space will feature plenty of books (duh), a children’s discovery area, co-working space, meeting rooms, a creative/DIY space, and plenty more. I highly recommend stopping by to check it out!

🎤 What’s the deal with summer?

Now read that title again, but in your best Seinfeld voice. That’s right, Jerry Seinfeld will be making a stop in Bend this summer, and if you want to grab some tickets, they will be going on presale tomorrow at 10 AM. I’d expect this to be a popular ticket so make sure to e-line up at 10 sharp.

👀 Googly eyed bandit revealed

Bend’s roundabout googly eye art has brought plenty of media attention to town, but up until now, the identity of the person (or people) responsible for this humorous mischief has remained unknown. Well, that all changed over the weekend as the person who started (but didn’t necessarily continue) this new trend came forward. I’d encourage you all to head over to the article at Central Oregon Daily to get the full story.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🏢 Central Oregon companies make the list of best places to work in Oregon: Oregon Business puts out an annual list of the 100 best companies in Oregon to work for — a list on which Central Oregon is usually well represented. This year was no different, as nearly 20 local businesses made the cut across the various categories.

Here’s the list of the top large businesses to work for in Bend, and I’d encourage you to check out the full write-up to see who took home the prize across all the other categories.

WEEKEND PREVIEW

One of the most requested additions to the Bend Buzz has been to list weekend events a bit earlier in the week so folks can start making plans further in advance. I had been hesitant to add it to the Tuesday newsletter (I like to keep things short-ish) and don’t yet want to add another email per week to clog up your already full inboxes.

But now that BendBuzz.com is officially live, it feels like the perfect place to host this new section.

Going forward, I’ll be including a link every Tuesday to the weekend preview post. Most likely, it’ll be just under the events section. If there’s anything you’d like to see added, improved upon, etc, I’m all ears. Just hit reply to this email and let me know!

Note that these posts won’t include everything happening over the weekend, but they should give you a head start on events that may sell out and a sampling of live music.

Check out the first Weekend Preview post here!

THANKS!

Stay warm, and thank you again for reading!
