Bend is getting a new bike share option as the city has partnered with e-bike company Veo. Starting this week, these grab-and-go ebikes will begin showing up across town so you can quickly get from point A to point B without having to drive quite so much. If this arrangement sounds familiar, thatās because it is, as the city had previously launched a pilot program with Bird bikes from 2022 to 2024.
š§ Bend climber brings home the gold
Bend Endurance Academy youth climber Nathaniel Perullo took home the gold in the U19 bouldering category at the 2025 USA Climbing Youth National Championships in Portland. The win secured him a spot on the U.S. Youth National Team and a trip to the 2025 IFSC Youth World Championships in Helsinki, Finland!
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
š Pac Nor Westy Opens in the Box Factory: If youāre in need of some sweet PNW-inspired apparel, then youāre in luck as Pac Nor Westy just opened the doors to their flagship store in the Box Factory. While the next few weeks are technically a soft opening (stay tuned for the grand opening announcement), you wouldnāt know it when you walk in the doors!
šļø Longboard Louieās East announces their closing date: There had been quite a bit of chatter in the Bend foodie world about the future of longtime Bend staple Longboard Louieās, as the business had been up for sale for a while now. It appears that no one has stepped forward, as a note posted at the restaurant says that they will be closing for good on July 26th.
