🚵 Transit to trails bus service kicks off

We’re a week late with this news (sorry!), but if you’re looking to hit some higher elevation dirt without all that pesky uphill pedaling, then it’s that time of year again when you and your mountain bike can hop the bus and get a ride up the hill for just $10. Cascades East Transit has expanded its popular mountain bike shuttle service that runs between the Columbia Street Park & Ride to Mt. Bachelor from four to seven days a week! The bus leaves four times per day and makes stops at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Station, Wanoga, Swampy Lakes, and Dutchman along the way. So you can pick that perfect ride that matches the current snow levels.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

🍔 Burgerville officially opens in Bend: No longer will you have to make a drive over the pass for your fix of asparagus fries, fresh strawberry shakes, or Walla Walla onion rings. Burgerville is officially opening the doors this morning to its first Bend location at 7 AM sharp, and the first 100 paying customers will go home with a gift card that will cover for a cheeseburger every week for a year.

🧖 Hanai summer sauna soft launch: Gather Sauna House has the fires stoked and cold plunge baths iced at their new Hanai location and are ready for you to stop by! To celebrate the move, they are offering a special 12-pack pass that will save you a boatload of money through the summer sauna season.

🎭️ Tower Theatre has a new leader at the helm: Back in February, it was announced that the Tower Theatre’s longtime executive director, Ray Solley, was retiring from his 16-year run at the theatre, effective July 1st. Well, July is almost here, and the Tower Theatre has named Brian August as the person who will lead the charge for the next 16 years (give or take a couple).
