âď¸ Skyliner Lodge will be staying open
Good news for fans of Skyliner Lodge, the historic building near Skyliner Sno-Park that hosts weddings, school outings, and more. Earlier this year, it was announced that the lodge was at risk of closing after the old concessionaire, the High Desert Education Service District, said they would not be renewing their lease. Luckily, a new group, Nature Connect Central Oregon, stepped up and will be taking over the space. The lodge is now available for summer rentals and, due to the short notice, will be offered at discounted rates from July 1 through September 30.
đ¸ Kids Inc. applications due May 16th
Need after-school care for your little ones for the 2025/26 school year? Applications for Kids Inc. are open now through May 16th. This is a lottery process, as most schools have more demand than space, so they ask that anyone who has alternative childcare options not apply during this initial period.
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
đ A new Bend company encourages families to get out and explore: If youâre looking for some new parks to explore this upcoming summer, thereâs a new business in town that has you covered. Bend-based company Fiercely Local just launched a scratch-off poster that lets you track your progress as you tour your way through all 70 Bend parks. If you want to get in on the fun, you can find them online or in a number of stores around town. They also have some exciting racing events lined up for later this year that are a departure from the same olâ 5k road run.
đ Paradise Produce is back open for the summer: If youâre a regular on the west side of Bend and have a hankering for fresh, regional produce, then youâre in luck as Paradise Produce is back open for the summer season. This open-air market stocks fresh produce from farms in Central Oregon, the Willamette Valley, and the Yakima Valley. The stand is open 7 days a week from 10 AM - 6 PM (5 PM on Sundays).
