SPONSORED BY SAFESPLASH SWIM SCHOOL
SafeSplash Swim School is officially open
Bend's newest swim school opened its doors yesterday, and they're throwing a party to celebrate.
SafeSplash teaches kids of all ages and stages, from babies getting their first taste of the water to big kids working on stronger strokes. Small classes, patient instructors, and a focus on water safety, confidence, and fun. Every lesson counts.
Want to check it out first? Head to their Grand Opening celebration this Saturday from 12 - 4 PM.
📆 Saturday, September 12
📍 20467 Nels Anderson Pl (across the road from Trader Joe's)
They're going all out: carnival games, Kona Ice, a water slide, raffles, and yes, an instructor dunk tank. Bring the kids, meet the teachers, and get a feel for the place before signing up.
Ready to get started? Signups for classes are open now.
P.S. Know someone who'd be great with kids in the water? SafeSplash is hiring swim instructors with afternoon availability, 2-5 PM. Apply here →

🚧 Butler Market Road reopens
NE siders rejoice as Butler Market Road is finally back open after what feels like 12 years of construction (I know, I know, it was only one year). Hopefully, this helps ease congestion just a bit along Empire as we get into back-to-school and back-to-our-jobs after a summer of adventuring.
❄ Mt. Bachelor gets an early taste of winter
Anyone brave enough to pull out their rock skis and grab a few turns on Bachelor over the weekend? The upcoming forecast is back to looking like our usual September weather, but over the weekend, Bachelor received a pretty good early-season snowfall. It was certainly nice seeing the mountains with their snowy tops again, as they were looking very barren after last winter’s lack of snow.
And on that note, Mt. Bachelor is switching to fall hours starting yesterday (Tuesday).
🤝 Bend Welcoming Week kicks off
Over the next 10 days, Bend will be celebrating Welcoming Week with stories and events highlighting and celebrating the voices in our community. This is a great chance to connect, learn, and celebrate the people and cultures that make Bend a great place to live. You can find the whole lineup of events happening here.
🍽 September Dinner Club announcement
We had an amazing turnout for our August dinner club (over 80 attendees!), and now the September date is set. Want to join? This month’s dinner is happening on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 6 PM. Once again, we’ll be meeting up at restaurants along Century Dr, followed by an after-dinner get-together at a local watering hole. Want in? Grab your spot here →
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🥯 Mimi’s Bagels opens their Galveston brick-and-mortar location: Given the lines over the weekend, I’m not sure this is new news to anyone, but in case you missed it, Mimi’s Bagels officially opened the doors to their new Galveston brick-and-mortar location. They’ll be open daily (except Mondays) from 6 AM - 2 PM.

TOGETHER WITH SALT AESTHETICS
Big news: Salt Medical Aesthetics is getting a new home!
The doors at our new office will open the first week of December. The space has been demo’d, designs are underway, and construction is officially in motion. Little by little, the next chapter of Salt is taking shape, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Until then, you can still find us at our current location, and we’d love to see you!
One thing that isn’t changing: the heart of this business. Salt Medical Aesthetics started as a small, family-owned med spa built on one simple goal — to be a place where people feel comfortable, cared for and confident that they’re in good hands. We’re still the sisters who own it, work in it, and obsess over your results.
If you’ve been curious about Salt, there’s no better time to come say hi! New patients receive 10% off their first visit, or schedule a complimentary consultation to talk through your goals.
No pressure, no upselling, just honest guidance.
