🚵 Mt. Bachelor switches over to summer
Despite receiving a few inches of fresh snow over the weekend, the folks at Mt. Bachelor are forging ahead with the switch to summer activities up on the mountain. On Thursday, they will be kicking off the new season with the opening of the bike park, zip line, and sunset dinners. If you want to just hang out for the party, there will be BBQ, live music, drinks, and giveaways at West Village. Tuesday 10 AM - 7 PM
🎶 Midweek music festival at Century Center
This party deserves a special callout, as it's not often that we get an all-day, family-friendly music fest happening in the middle of the week. The High Desert Music Collective is bringing 17 local artists to four stages in the Century Center for music, local vendors, and even a kids’ stage. Ale Apothecary, Goodlife Brewing, The Commonwealth Pub, and Play Society will all be playing host to live music from noon to 10:30 PM today (Wednesday), June 25th.
Bringing the little ones? Play Society and Two Suns Art Studio are teaming up to co-sponsor the kids’ concert in the courtyard from 2:30 - 4:30 PM. In addition to the music, they’ll also have giant bubbles (who doesn’t love bubbles!?!), a giant paint-by-numbers art project, and more!
BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
👵 Council on Aging 50th anniversary: Well, now this is a big milestone. For 50 years, the Council on Aging has been serving older adults in Central Oregon, and they’re throwing a party to celebrate. They’ll have live music, tasty eats from Jamaican Jerk Culture, drinks, and more! Thursday 4 - 7 PM
🏬 National chains on the move: Deschutes Junction Pizza is out (the building is literally gone now), and a new AutoZone is moving in. Opening date still TBD on that one. And in other national chain news - Bend’s north side Rite Aid is being replaced by CVS. The transition is expected to occur in late September, and CVS claims that the process will be seamless for existing Rite Aid customers.
