🏡 More homes on the market means…

Beacon Appraisal Group released every Central Oregon realtor’s favorite monthly real estate report, the Beacon Report. The big news this month was another increase in homes on the market in Bend. With nearly four months of supply, a number not seen now for years, home buyers have a whole lot more options and can be a little bit choosier than in years past. Will this lead to lower home prices? Only time will tell.

🚵‍♀️ The Cascade Cycling Classic Criterium returns

After a 7-year-long absence, the Cascade Cycling Classic Criterium returns to the high desert. This adrenalin-fueled race runs through downtown Bend as cyclists try to ride as many laps as possible within the set time limit. With sharp turns and long straightaways, there will be no shortage of action in this year’s race.

The festivities run from noon through the evening hours, so there are plenty of opportunities to head downtown and catch a race or two.

BEND OUTDOOR GUIDE

💫 Look to the skies

The Perseid meteor shower passes overhead each year around this time, and on Sunday night, it will reach its peak. During good years, you can see up to 200 meteors per hour streaking across the night sky.

On Sunday evening, the moon will be up until around midnight, so the hours after that will provide the best viewing of the skies.

Places like the Cascade Lakes Highway or the Badlands are great spots to watch for shooting stars. Bring a blanket or a chair that reclines, or your neck will not be happy the next day…I can attest to that from personal experience 😖
