šŸ— Another Bend restaurant closes

First Friday happening at the Old Mill and downtown, Neighbor Rotisserie closing their doors, and your weekend events roundup

TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Bend! Welcome to the season where youā€™re scraping frost off your windshield in the morning and wearing shorts in the afternoon.

In todayā€™s Bend Buzz:

  • šŸ· First Friday happening at the Old Mill and downtown Bend

  • šŸ— Newport Ave chicken joint is closing their doors

  • šŸŽļø Greenhouse Cabaretā€™s latest musical kicks off

Letā€™s get to it.

ā€” Derek Carlson

Market shifts rarely feel dramatic while theyā€™re happening.
Much like someone on a fitness journey, itā€™s only when you compare the ā€œbeforeā€ and ā€œafterā€ that the change becomes obvious.

Take a look at Bendā€™s housing market:

$600Kā€“$699K Range

  • 2022: 1,860 sq ft, 13 days on market, sold 4% over asking

  • 2025: 2,000 sq ft, 70 days on market, sold 3% under asking

$500Kā€“$599K Range

  • 2022: 1,430 sq ft, 5 days on market, sold 5% over asking

  • 2025: 1,700 sq ft, 44 days on market, sold 5% under asking

If you're waiting for the ā€œbig momentā€ to make a move, you might be missing the gradual but meaningful changes already taking place.

In real estate, just like fitness, itā€™s the before-and-after snapshots that tell the real story.

Thinking of making a move? Letā€™s chat about where the market is heading and what that could mean for you.

šŸ· Support local artists at First Friday

I was feeling a little lazy this week, so I reached out to friend of the newsletter and landscape artist, Lindsay Gilmore, to help promote this monthā€™s First Friday happenings at her studio in the Old Mill. You can find her work, along with the work of many other amazing local artists, at The Stacks Art Studios & Gallery at the Old Mill.

Take it away, Lindsay!

Most people only think of Downtown Bend for First Friday, but did you know that The Old Mill hosts one too? Ours is from 3-6 PM, so you can pay us a visit before you head downtown! Free wine & snacks and lots of artwork to peruse at the Districtā€™s four galleries (Tumalo Art Co, Amejko Artistry, Lubbesmeyer Art Studio & Gallery, and The Stacks Art Studios & Gallery) and various shops! The Lubbesmeyers and The Stacks are located upstairs above the Sisters Coffee, so don't forget about us...we're a good time, and we promise we're worth the flight of stairs. šŸ˜ƒ

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

šŸ„Æ Handcrafted sourdough bagels delivered to your doorstep: Have a hankering for some handmade sourdough bagels but donā€™t want to defrost the car (yep, we still have to do that in April) to go pick some up at the store? Well, then youā€™re in luck, as Bend Sourdough Bagels is here to fill that niche. Just place your order, and theyā€™ll deliver bagel goodness right to your front door.

šŸ’† Summit Spa belated opening announcement: Iā€™m a bit late to the party with this one (thanks to reader Laura for the tip!), but in late January, a new massage spa called Summit Spa opened up in NWX. Since then, theyā€™ve already racked up an impressive collection of five-star reviews, and Laura reports that the service is top-notch!

šŸ— Neighbor Rotisserieā€™s last day is today: Local rotisserie chicken & sandwich shop Neighbor Rotisserie announced on Instagram that today, April 4th, would be their last day in business. So, if you want to enjoy one more chicken cutlet sandwich, this is your last chance.
