TOGETHER WITH

Good morning, Bend! Over the weekend, the Bend Buzz hit 10,000 subscribers, and I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who has chosen to follow this now not-so-little newsletter! 🎉

In today’s Bend Buzz:

  • 🚲️ Get those bikes registered for the bike swap

  • 🍔 Lucky’s Woodsman is back in Bend

  • 👷 Another round of job postings

Let’s get to it.

— Derek Carlson

Easter has come and gone, and the sunny days are finally starting to show up 🌷☀️

Spring is officially here, which means fresh starts, longer days, and maybe even a little motivation to check off those “grown-up” to-dos. Like giving your insurance a once-over. 😉

We’re here to help make that part easy! Honest advice, helpful service, and coverage that actually makes sense for your life. But don’t just take our word for it—here’s what a recent customer had to say:

“Ryan Walker and his team have been very friendly and helpful when I called in for quotes and questions. It's a much better experience compared to dealing with Geico. State Farm has been honest and affordable with better coverage for my house and vehicles.”

Ready for a smoother season? We’re just a call or click away.

🚲️ Register for the bike swap

Central Oregon’s biggest bike swap is happening this weekend, and if you want to include your gear in the swap, the deadline to register is TODAY at 9 PM. Items must be in safe working condition and can be dropped off on Friday afternoon at The Pavilion. Proceeds from the bike swap go towards the Bend Endurance Academy.

🌎️ Volunteer at the Earth Day Celebration

The Earth Day fair is taking place on Saturday, April 26th, at the Bend Environmental Center, and they still need a few more volunteers to help things run smoothly. One lucky volunteer may even get the honor of taking on the role as the Fair Guardian! Sign up here if you’re interested in volunteering.

The folks behind the project, Claire and Maija, have found the perfect location to make this dream a reality and are seeking donors, partners, or sponsors to help secure the space and build it out. BUSINESS HAPPENINGS

⚕️ South side Rite Aid store closing: For anyone who has visited a Rite Aid store in Bend lately, you may have been shocked by the empty shelves and left wondering if the company’s days were numbered. If so, it turns out you were half right, as the store on the south end of town will be closing and consolidating its business to the remaining north end location.

🌮 A new Tex-Mex style food truck opens at Crosscut: Crosscut Warming Hut is now home to a new Tex-Mex food truck (it replaces Eight Hands Sandos). The menu includes all your Tex-Mex favorites like chips & queso, fajitas, tacos, and nachos. You can check out the full menu here.

🚚 Luckey’s Woodsman is back in Bend: Luckey’s Woodsman, the outdoorsy-themed food truck/restaurant that was previously located in Bend and then set up a brick and mortar in Sisters, is back in town (the Sisters location is still there, too). They will be opening their window on Thursday at 2 PM for a soft opening. You can find them next to the Ale Apothecary, so make sure to stop by and say hi.
