👋 A Quick Reintroduction

It’s been about a year since I first started showing up in the Bend Buzz. With how much the readership has grown since then, now feels like a good time to reintroduce myself.

I’m Austin Buskohl, and I’ve been a Bend resident for nearly 14 years. Over the years, I’ve worked in a few different industries, but there’s been one common thread through them all: helping people make confident, informed decisions.

Now I could sit here and say the same thing every other real estate agent says—“I’m a hard worker, I’m here to help you achieve your dreams,” and so on. I won’t (even though it’s all true). What I will say is this: anyone who knows me knows I love watching market trends, analyzing what’s really happening, and using that insight to help clients make smart moves in real estate. I even have the spreadsheets to back it up.

These days, that means helping buyers and sellers navigate the Central Oregon market with clarity, strategy, and a bit less stress.

So whether you’re thinking about making a move or just want to talk about where the market is headed, I’m always up for a good conversation—coffee is on me.

🍻 Bend Breweries Rack up the Awards at GABF

Bend breweries brought home the gold (and some silver & bronze) at the Great American Beer Festival. Newly formed UPP Liquids led the way with five medals, including gold for their Buzz Box honey beer and Moments Made Berliner-Weisse. Deschutes Brewery also nabbed a gold for their Super Stoked non-alcoholic brew, while Monkless brought home a silver and bronze.

🖼️ $20 Art Show kicks off

Bend’s most popular art show kicks off tonight with the $20 art show at the High Desert Museum. Here you can nab art from local artists, with every single piece costing only $20. If you haven’t already bought tickets, then you’re SOL as they are all sold out. Worry not, as the show is open to the public on both Saturday and Sunday from 12 - 5 PM, as well as all day Monday. With over 10,000 pieces of art, there will be new options added every day.

🚧 McKenzie Pass Closes (partially)

Hoping to make one last drive over McKenzie Pass to check out the fall foliage? It’ll have to be an abbreviated out-and-back as the west gate is now closed for the season. The east gate is scheduled to stay open for a few more weeks, although early snows could change that.
