💰️ Parking fees coming to more Central Oregon state parks
The state of Oregon is addressing a widening budget gap within the state parks department by rolling out parking fees at a number of parks across the state, including three in Central Oregon. Visitors to Smith Rock State Park are already well versed in paying this fee, but starting October 21st, the $10 fee will also be required at Prineville Reservoir State Park, LaPine State Park, and Cline Falls State Scenic Viewpoint.
If you’re a frequent visitor to these parks, you can pick up an annual pass here.

BUSINESS HAPPENINGS
🥬 Local Acres 40th anniversary sale: Local grocery store Local Acres Marketplace is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a week of deals, giveaways, samples, and more! Each day between August 6 and 12, there will be local vendors on hand, some of the lowest prices of the year, and, best of all, a chance to support our go-to grocery store.
🥩 Blacksteer Steakhouse reopens under new ownership: Blacksteer Steakhouse quietly closed its doors earlier this summer to give its new ownership team time to give the menu a full makeover. As of today, they are open again for business with a revamped menu featuring seafood, steak, and an impressive array of appetizers. They’ll also be launching a happy hour on August 20th.
